Justin Timberlake Joins ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO Lineup for One-on-One Conversation with Bill Withers

Los Angeles / New York, April 9, 2010:  Music superstar Justin Timberlake has joined the ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO lineup to be part of a first-ever feature for the conference, a One-on-One Conversation between two Grammy Award-winning music creators, when he engages in a conversation with legendary singer-songwriter Bill Withers, it was announced today by ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).  The three-day EXPO will take place at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, April 22-24, 2010 in Los Angeles , CA .
 
Justin Timberlake is a songwriter, performer, producer, actor and entrepreneur.  Originally rising to fame as a member of the phenomenally successful Pop group *NSYNC, Timberlake eventually launched his solo career that has earned him 6 Grammy Awards, 2 Emmy Awards and dozens of accolades from around the world.  With two Pop/R&B solo albums that have sold more than 18 million albums worldwide, four #1 hits (“SexyBack,” “My Love,” “What Goes Around…/…Comes Around” and “Summer Love”) and the respect of his peers and fans across the globe, Timberlake has unique insight into the art and business of music today.  In a one-on-one conversation with legendary Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Bill Withers (“Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Just the Two of Us,” “Lean on Me,” “Lovely Day”), Timberlake and Withers will draw from experiences in their remarkable careers to explore what it means to be a well-rounded, dedicated and visionary music creator.
 
This year's EXPO will also feature Quincy Jones being interviewed by Ludacris, an interview with John Mayer, a series of writer and composer-focused Master Sessions with some of the most successful names in music, including Linda Perry, Kenny Burrell, Don Schlitz, Loudon Wainwright III, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald and Just Blaze, in addition to song feedback panels, and an expanded array of career-building business, marketing, publishing and technological panels that speak to all music creators across all genres.  Also confirmed to participate are Kerry "Krucial" Brothers, Toby Gad, Allison Iraheta, Mark Isham, Lenny Kaye, Jason Mraz, Jill Sobule, C. Tricky Stewart, Phil Vassar, Don Was, and ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams among others.  Attendance by panelists and speakers is tentative and subject to change at any time.
