LOS ANGELES (August 20, 2010)Southern California’s wine country will be invaded by film, music and celebrities during the 16th Annual Temecula Valley International Film Festival, September 15-19, 2010.  The internationally renowned festival is comprised of more than 150 screenings of features, documentaries and shorts from around the world, a two-day music festival, film and music industry workshops, celebrity studded parties and a marketplace bazaar in the Southern California wine country town of Temecula.  Career Achievement Awards will be presented to actor Eric Roberts (THE EXPENDABLES, DARK KNIGHT) for acting, and pop legend Kenny Loggins (FOOTLOOSE, THIS IS IT) for music.  San Diego State University School of Theatre, Television and Film will be honored for their Academic Excellence in the Arts.  Lifetime Achievement recipients will be announced shortly.  Tickets go on sale August 30 online at www.tviff.com or by phone at (951) 699-5514.

Known for its rolling hills, wineries, hot air balloon rides, western heritage and spa getaways, Temecula is within a two hour drive from Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and Palm Springs.  Hotel packages beginning at $99/night are available through sponsor hotels such as the Pechanga Resort & Casino, Embassy Suites, South Coast Winery Resort & Spa, Hampton Inn and Quality Inn.  Package details are posted at www.tviff.com

The opening night film will be the Canadian feature St. Roz, a light-hearted comedy about a weight-loss center mogul and her overweight daughter whose lives are turned upside down when a religious statue helps the daughter lose weight and simultaneously brings down the $40 billion weight loss industry.  Opening night festivities begin at 5:00 pm at the Movie Experience in Tower Plaza shopping center.  The celebration includes an all-star vintage car parade and red carpet arrivals of more than 200 filmmakers and musicians whose works will be showcased during the festival.  Following the screening, film and music fans join the filmmakers and musicians at the after party where wines by Temecula’s Monte Oro Winery will be served. St. Roz producer/director Gregory Sheppard and producer/actor Michael Lamport will be in attendance.  Admission to the party and screening is $35. 

Actor Eric Roberts and pop icon Kenny Loggins will be feted at the Festivals’ Black Tie Awards Gala on September 19 at the Pechanga Resort & Casino Grand Ballroom, 25000 Pechanga Parkway in Temecula.  Music legend and 15-time Grammy Award winner David Foster will present Loggins with an Outstanding Career Achievement in Music Award.  Roberts will receive an Outstanding Career Achievement Award in Acting Award.  San Diego State University School of Theatre, Television and Film will be honored for their Academic Excellence in the Arts.  The star-studded affair will honor significant film and music icons of the past and present with Lifetime and/or Outstanding Career Achievement Awards.  The event is open to the public.  Tickets
