Dizzy D Flashy Named "Rip the Mic" Hip-Hop Winner!

This week Hip Hop Weekly announced the Shiekh Music 2010 “Rip the Mic” Winners for Hip-Hop and R&B.  Congratulations go out to both Dizzy D Flashy (Hip-Hop) of Las Vegas and Jon Doe (R&B) of Los Angeles.  In addition to the announcement, posters began going up in Shiekh stores everywhere from California to Texasfeaturing both.  Throughout this year the stores will feature various promotional items featuring these incredibly talented winners.  The event held in Burbank, CA was sponsored by Reebok, Island Def Jam, Hip Hop Weekly Magazine, Yo! Promotions and of course Shiekh Shoes. Dizzy D Flashy, known in his hometown of Las Vegas as an undeniable lyricist, is no stranger to the limelight as he truly had an incredible year in 2010.  Along with nabbing the Rip the Mic title, he was also a winner during his first national appearance on BET’s 106 & Park when he performed on “Wild out Wednesday” in January.  In August, he was named “Fan Favorite” at the “Blaze the Stage” International Showcase held in New York.  He later grabbed the “Platinum Mic” award at the Las Vegas Music Awards (Las Vegas) and then he closed the year out with his recent win. With the release of his two mix tapes “The Takeover” and“What Hip Hop Needs” last year he humbly gained a modest 10,000+ followers on twitter and over 700,000 views on MySpace since he created his music page two years ago.  With the release of his videos beginning with his comedic “Lowkey” video where he is his own way thanked his fans for voting for him when he appeared on BET overall, he managed to wrap up more than 700,000 views on all of his YouTube videos.  To date his first video “Tha’ Truth” has over 60,000 views alone and steady climbing. As record labels and other industry officials begin to schedule meetings with the young phenom, his industry buzz is definitely kicking into high gear everywhere.  “He’s no longer popular in just Las Vegas and California, his music is starting to really get out there everywhere” say’s his manager Marcus Hill. Although Dizzy D Flashy is now crossing over from being a local artist to one that is starting to be looked at on a national level he had this to say about his crossover.  "I’m not national enough so I’m gonna’ keep grinding like I’m not close and even when I’m on, I’m never gonna stop the grind.  Hard work creates comfortable living and that’s how I want to live, comfortably. I will admit that I am happy to be doing interviews now for major magazines and with DJ’s on their mix shows”.
