Death Row Releases "LBC CREW HAVENT YOU HEARD"
Recently Paroled From The Death Row Vaults LBC CREW
Toronto - Friday January 21,2011
The LBC CREW is part of West Coast Hip Hop history. They were the first group to be executive- produced by Snoop Dogg in 1997 for his record label, Doggystyle Records, distributed by Death Row Records. Their hit song "Beware Of My Crew" was on the sound track of the movie, "The Thin Line Between Love and Hate". The LBC CREW has stayed true to it's original sound and makes no excuses for it's background. Their sound and attitude has earned them the respect of fellow Hip Hop artists who know, to represent, you have to keep it real. LBC has weathered the storm and come out the other side still standing, but not without scars and their music reflects that. The group describes their sound as "Grind & Struggle from Long Beach" weighed deep in pain, loss and betrayal. Not cleaned up Hip Hop.....but true Death Row.
"LBC CREW HAVENT YOU HEARD" will feature original versions of such hits as "Blueberries" and "Out The Moon" plus a remix of "Out The Moon" by Daz Dillinger and will feature never been heard tracks.
WIDEawake Entertainment Group Inc./ WIDEawake-Deathrow Entertainment LLC's release of "LBC CREW HAVEN'T YOU HEARD" is set to hit shelves February 8, 2011.

Indie Rock Darlings School of Seven Bells Set to Perform at THE CONGA ROOM on Tuesday February 1, 2011
Indie Rock Darlings School of Seven Bells Set to Perform at THE CONGA ROOM on Tuesday February 1, 2011
“Danceable beats, of-the-moment electronic textures and some of the prettiest, angelic vocals in indie rock” Rolling Stone
“School of Seven Bells sets itself apart with dreamy visuals to match its soaring ethereal sound” New York Magazine
“SVIIB makes a confident gesture towards the future”PitchFork
Los Angeles. (January 18, 2011) New York City natives School of Seven Bells will bring their dream pop sensibilities and indie rock esthetic to The Conga Room on Tuesday Febraury 1, 2011 at 9 p.m., located at 800 West Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90015. A KCRW Presents Event, the School of Seven Bells will make a stop in Los Angeles to perform while on their North American tour as the band travels westward to meet up with Interpol in Vancouver, BC in support of their critically acclaimed album “Disconnect From Desire.”
“Disconnect from Desire”is a complete work—an old-fashioned album from forward-thinking minds, as thematically airtight as it is mind-bendingly gorgeous. Symbols, myths, mantras—in the hands of vocalist Alejandra Deheza prevail while the band focuses on the layered electronic textures, distilling the music to its essence as guitars ring, beats crunch and Alejandra’s vocals intertwine with new, right-in-your-ears clarity.
School of Seven Bellswas born as the result of a late-night revelation. Benjamin Curtis connected with sisters Alejandra and Claudia Deheza in 2004 while their bands -- Secret Machines and On! Air! Library! respectively -- were on tour. While watching PBS at 3am, Alejandra caught a show about the School of Seven Bells: a mythical South American pickpocket academy that may or may not have existed in the '80s. The idea of seven minds working as one appealed to her, as did the phrase's cryptic musicality, and a creative spark ignited. To learn more about School of Seven Bells visit their official website

Dizzy D Flashy Named "Rip the Mic" Hip-Hop Winner!
This week Hip Hop Weekly announced the Shiekh Music 2010 “Rip the Mic” Winners for Hip-Hop and R&B. Congratulations go out to both Dizzy D Flashy (Hip-Hop) of Las Vegas and Jon Doe (R&B) of Los Angeles. In addition to the announcement, posters began going up in Shiekh stores everywhere from California to Texasfeaturing both. Throughout this year the stores will feature various promotional items featuring these incredibly talented winners. The event held in Burbank, CA was sponsored by Reebok, Island Def Jam, Hip Hop Weekly Magazine, Yo! Promotions and of course Shiekh Shoes. The lucky winners will have a variety of promotions throughout the upcoming year including a tour. Fans will soon be able to see Dizzy D Flashy and Jon Doe performing live in cities across the United States . View highlights of the event here: http://lnk.ms/H8RXS
Dizzy D Flashy, known in his hometown of Las Vegas as an undeniable lyricist, is no stranger to the limelight as he truly had an incredible year in 2010. Along with nabbing the Rip the Mic title, he was also a winner during his first national appearance on BET’s 106 & Park when he performed on “Wild out Wednesday” in January. In August, he was named “Fan Favorite” at the “Blaze the Stage” International Showcase held in New York. He later grabbed the “Platinum Mic” award at the Las Vegas Music Awards (Las Vegas) and then he closed the year out with his recent win. With the release of his two mix tapes “The Takeover” and“What Hip Hop Needs” last year he humbly gained a modest 10,000+ followers on twitter and over 700,000 views on MySpace since he created his music page two years ago. With the release of his videos beginning with his comedic “Lowkey” video where he is his own way thanked his fans for voting for him when he appeared on BET overall, he managed to wrap up more than 700,000 views on all of his YouTube videos. To date his first video “Tha’ Truth” has over 60,000 views alone and steady climbing. His latest video effort“Somebody or Nobody” the first single off his mix tape produced by L Dot the Producer and directed by Rob Seher of Seher Cinema can be viewed here: http://lnk.ms/J5qCz.
As record labels and other industry officials begin to schedule meetings with the young phenom, his industry buzz is definitely kicking into high gear everywhere. “He’s no longer popular in just Las Vegas and California, his music is starting to really get out there everywhere” say’s his manager Marcus Hill. Although Dizzy D Flashy is now crossing over from being a local artist to one that is starting to be looked at on a national level he had this to say about his crossover. "I’m not national enough so I’m gonna’ keep grinding like I’m not close and even when I’m on, I’m never gonna stop the grind. Hard work creates comfortable living and that’s how I want to live, comfortably. I will admit that I am happy to be doing interviews now for major magazines and with DJ’s on their mix shows”.
Be on the lookout for more from this undercover hip-hop superstar in the near future as he kicks off the promotions for his new single “Somebody or Nobody” off his third mix tape “Legendary” which was released via the internet on January 2, 2011. It is available for free download here: http://lnk.ms/HC6hQ. Up next the young entertainer say’s he will be shooting another video soon and inviting all of his fans in Las Vegas to come be a part of it. A true lover of his fans he admits he can’t wait to perform at his first awards show, hoping that it will happen this year. Industry folks are definitely watching this guy so performing on awards show will probably be the least of his worries this year. Congratulations to Dizzy D Flashy from Las Vegas , Shiekh Music’s newest Rip the Mic Hip-Hop Winner.
Tommy Davidson and Pat O'Brien Host Annual Celebrity Holiday Party at PATH (2010)
The P.A.T.H. 2010 Celebrity Holiday Party brought cheer and hope to many underprivileged children and families.
I had the chance to interview some amazing and caring celebrities and people that help run the organization. These celebrities were Tommy Davidson, Pat O'Brien, Sterling Beaumon and Ava Allan. Also on hand at the event was Paul Palacios representing the Hansen Beverage Company who provided refreshments to all, and Chief Development Officer of P.A.T.H., Jeremy Sidell.
Davidson was very interesting and touching because he was an abandoned child, whom was later adopted by a very caring women. He said that she always taught him to be a giving person and that "if you give, you receive". A message that he carries with him daily.
O'Brien talked about how P.A.T.H. puts smiles on children's faces and helps the homeless find school, rehab, and employment. He also mentions that P.A.T.H. completely relies on grants and donations.
Beaumon and Allan of T.V.'s 'Criminal Minds' took time from their busy schedules to visit and hand out gifts as well. Beaumon brought his ukulele with him
and played it for several fascinated children.
After leaving the event I really saw how such a small gesture can make a big difference in someones life.
If you would like to make a donation you can go to ePATH.org.

Sheila E. Takes Lead of the i@iamwumrpres Twitter Army March in Support of Re-electing Pres. Barack Obama in 2012
Written by Ed Magik
January 2, 2011
LOS ANGELES, California
It was a rainy Sunday, but the weather did not dampen the spirits of percussionist Sheila E. and the Escovedo family and well over fifty marchers, drummers, and cell phone owners who had one thing in common: support the 2012 re-election of President Barack Obama by way of using their cell phones to tweet #iamwumrpres on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/iamwumrpres).
Sheila E. and the E. family lead the march starting from the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street West on Sunset to Amoeba Records, where they marched into the store making somewhat of a parade through the store and then back out to Sunset at Cahuenga with a drums banging and cell phones tweeting.
Just prior to the march New Day Talk Radio's (http://www.newdaytalkradio.com) on-air personality Lynette Jones, aka "The Captain", gave army like instructions to the group. The whole scene had somewhat of a military feel to it. I think this is because the participants labeled themselves as the "Twitter army".
Los Angeles City Traffic Officers blocked off all vehicle access to Sunset Boulevard between Vine St. and Cahuenga Boulevard so that the march could be carried out safely.
There seem to be nobody in opposition to the march as on-lookers and passers-by gave cheers to the marchers, although it appeared as though some customers in Amoeba Records were a bit startled, shock and in awe to the drumming procession as they paraded through the store giving cadence of "I'm with You Mr. Pres.".
Despite the wet weather, the Escovedo family drummed and marched with much enthusiasm. Pete Escovedo, age 75 and his wife looked on with much pride to his daughter, Sheila E.
This event marks the first in a series of events that will take place in support of the 2012 re-election of Democratic President Barack Obama.
Video interviews of both Sheila E. , Pete Escovedo and others will appear on ED MAGIK TV (http://www.edmagiktv.com and also http://www.youtube.com/edmagiktv).
